MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — The president of the Memphis-based Stuttering Foundation says the new movie "The King's Speech" accurately portrays fear and frustration associated with the condition.

Jane Fraser told The Commercial Appeal that the film also is informative.

Colin Firth plays Britain's King George VI, who, with help from a therapist played by Geoffrey Rush, overcomes his stuttering to address his country on the eve of World War II.

Fraser said the foundation wants to stress that help is available. The foundation was started in 1947 in Memphis by her father, NAPA Auto Parts founder Malcolm Fraser.

Jane Fraser said the movie brought back memories of her father, who stuttered.

MTV is proceeding with plans for a spinoff reality series featuring "Jersey Shore" star Paul "DJ Pauly D" Delvecchio, according to reports.

The pilot was shot in September, and the show will focus on Delvecchio's "life away from the shore," a statement from MTV said.

"At the heart of 'Jersey Shore' is the unique and genuine cast and Pauly D truly embodies both qualities," MTV programming executive Chris Linn said in the statement. "He's distinguished himself onscreen as the fun-loving, well-coifed and dependable guy you can't help but want to hang out with. We know viewers are curious about his life away from the shore and we look forward to exploring new possibilities around that."

No air date was given.

Meanwhile, Pauly D and the rest of the "Jersey Shore" cast will appear on MTV's live New Year's Eve special. Among the, um, highlights: They'll introduce a sneak preview of the show's upcoming third season, and "lead the crowd in a fist-pumping frenzy in an attempt to break a Guinness World Record," MTV boasts.

Plus, cast member Vinny Guadagnino will be seen in a parody of the recent "Old Spice" commercials, and breakout star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi will be inside the ball that's lowered onto MTV studios' rooftop to ring in 2011.
